Every since one of the summer updates gmod never closes properly and I have to manually close it using task manager. It's not a huge issue, it doesn't take up many resources and usually closes itself within 5 - 10 mins, just kinda annoying is all. Tried the usual stuff, clearing out addons, verify cache blah blah blah. Anyone else getting this or is it just me?

I never really paid attention to mine so I just closed it twice a few minutes ago and it closes fine for me. Could be some elusive bug that only pops up if certain conditions are present. If it is a bug I'm sure the devs will patch it soon hopefully.
I usually open console and type exit and it closes fine that way

I have this problem too. I made a command prompt script to quickly close mine.
Just put this into a .txt file and rename it to a .bat file.
This issue seems to be windows 10 exclusive.
Taskkill /IM hl2.exe /F
You have to manually click the .bat every time you want the game to fully close, what I do is close the game the normal way, then use the script.
I get this sometimes too.

16gb ram and i7, same exact problem.
Its a problem with gmod, not your computers. It also happens to me. you have to force close gmod through the task manager or it'll just keep running most of the time
