What are the spray sizes?

After searching I see three answers:

256x265
512x512
1024x1024

So what are the actual sizes for sprays? I know I can import a file and it will resize but I want to know what it resizes to, so I can make the quality best.

It seems like 512x512 is the highest you can go, any lower must be a power of 2, so 256x256, 128x128 etc.

But if I am going for quality, and I resize and image (or get an image that was the size) 512x512 and save it as VTF then import to GMod, it loses quality.

Make sure you check "No Level of Details","No Mipmap" and, "No Minimum Mipmap" in VTF flags before saving your VTF files.

Garry's Mod accept spray size of up to 512 x 512 , It can be rectangular so long as the number is a power of 2 (128 x 64, 128 x 128, 256 x 128). Size must be lesser than 512 kB.
