Hello, Im not sure why but it seems like servers for garrys mod don't load only about 100 load on the menu from every gamemode and it even acts like this in the steam server browser this is only a problem it seems with garrys mod. Though I have not tried it with team fortress 2 so it could be a problem with source.
My OS is Windows 8.1
In steam options you can choose the rate at which the server list is polled. Try changing it to a lower value

This does not work, it was originally set to Automatic(3000) and I set it to 500 and it does the same thing.
