Hello, I was mid-joining a server to suddenly have the game crash - I closed it via task manager because it was just messing up really bad and freezing. When I try to re-launch the game it will get to the blue menu and freeze up again with 'hl2 stopped working' and it gives me an option to debug which outputs this error: I have looked around and could not find anything about this error. Any help would be appreciated - cheers.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=visual+studio+download
Alright - I am downloading Visual Studio now. You did not need to give me a 'Imgtfy' link (Makes you seem like you are trying to be funny/sarcastic). I was not aware that I needed this application to run Garry's Mod. Thanks for your help all the same though.

The first thing you should always do, if you run into CTDs on startup, is verify the game cache.

Is there anything that I could post with the debug option with visual studios or is there any more simpler options that I could try?

You could also try clearing your addons folder and/or server downloads folder because you might have downloaded something from the server you were joining that keeps causing the crash. [editline]18th December 2015[/editline] Check for your Garrys Mod folder (\steam\steamapps\(username)\garrysmod) for .mdmp files (I'm not sure if GMod still leaves this, I think I read somewhere that it doesn't) and upload them to http://dumps.metastruct.uk.to/. That way, if someone can read them, then they can help. I'll try to look at them as well to see if I can learn anything about them. [editline]18th December 2015[/editline] Oh, right, and if you verify the game cache of other source games (Half-Life 2, Team Fotress 2, ect) that might help as well.

My issue was solved by verifying TF2.
