I'm new to running servers and I recently encountered my first issue. After Garry's Mod updating a couple days ago, I had to update my server. I tried following a tutorial that had me use Steam CMD, and I have tried repeating the process but it says app 4020 is already installed. However, despite my efforts, it still says "The server you are trying to connect to is running an older version of the game." when I try to connect to it. Am I doing something wrong?
You probably misused force_install_dir.
If you go to your root SteamCMD folder, you might find this path: [I]SteamCMD/steamapps/common/GarrysModDS[/I]. Which will hold an up-to-date server, with all of the default files
I looked in Steam CMD/steamapps and all that was in it was libraryfolders.vdf. Is this a good sign or bad sign?

Ok I think i have found out what you mean. I have that path now, if i have the updated server through that path now, do i just drag and drop it into my servers actual folder?
