I have a gtx 750 ti + Phenom ii x2 --> x3 running @ 3 ghz with 8 gigs of ram. I usually play on the game mode zombie survival on servers 50+ and at times my fps would dip as low as 11 fps. I understand that the physics of this game is taxing on the cpu, but when I get a minimum of about 30 fps for BF3 in Metro with 64 players it makes me cringe that my fps is as low as this. So I was wondering if there is a command to force GMOD to use multiple cpu cores. Sooner or later I'm going to upgrade to a g3258 to practice delidding and hoping the IPC of an overclocked intel processor would be op enough to get a minimum of 30 fps. Also don't suggest overclocking as I previously ran 3.3 ghz @ 3 cores, but after 3 years I went back to stock frequency due to a whirring noise from the power usage.
Have you enabled "Multicore Rendering" in the advanced video options? That should work.
Gary's Mod has disabled multicore rendering even though its in the video settings.
That's strange, and I don't know how to help you because it has always let me change that setting.
Well there is your answer.
It's disabled because the interaction between rendering and Lua is far too unstable.
@ opspotty You can change the setting in the menu, but it doesn't do anything.
Well I was hoping I can force it to see the effects for myself.
