when i play darkrp i get lag spikes and these lag spikes are around 1-3 seconds long and either freeze me in place or allow me to keep moving and everything else freezes or i go backwards then zoom back in place, they are really annoying especially when trying to raid or during a battle or fight because i have no clue what is going on and it makes it unplayable. please can someone help me, i have been unable to find a solution browsing around, i have tried installing garrysmod and deleting all my addons or disabling them, my computer is fine and i am able to play games like battlefield 3 and 4 on ultra and i dont understand why garrysmod lags.

you mean like connect my router to my computer? with a ethernet cable?
my router is downstairs so i dont think that is possible
any other ideas or solutions?
