• How doI completely delete Garrys Mod from PC?
    19 replies, posted
Hi everyone, this may be a dumb question, but I am trying to solve a problem by deleting Garrys Mod and completely reinstalling it. I want it to come up with the 'first time installation' when I click to run it the first time, so I thought deleting the Garrys Mod folder from the steam folder would do this for me but it didn't. Is there more places where Garrys Mod keeps its files? If so where can I find them Thanks
google a bit, theres a programm that fully cleans your steam and removes old install files. Dunno if its allowed, but incase you're lazy, click -->HERE<--

Isn't the first-time installation just for things like DirectX? Reinstalling those is extremely unlikely to fix your issues. Deleting local content and maybe remove any leftover files (like downloads and addons) in ../Steam/SteamApps/common/Garry's Mod should be enough to completely uninstall the game.

Just try it and look for yourself.

Is it just a problem with ShadowPlay? Is it only with Garry's Mod? What makes you think reinstalling Garry's Mod will fix anything? What are you trying to fix by reinstalling Garry's Mod? Is ShadowPlay not working in Garry's Mod for you? Are you running the game on your NVidia graphics card? Are you running the game in fullscreen mode? ( Shadowplay won't work in windowed mode if "your desktop is running on another graphics card", such as Intel Graphics on Laptops )
Have you tested to make sure Shadowplay isn't doing the same thing on other games? - Might be a stupid question, I'd hope you'd have checked. [editline]14th April 2016[/editline] Also, as above, what is the actual problem?

Try adding -dxlevel 95 to launch parameters
I'm moving on to OBS now which is a million times better, but thanks anyway mate
OBS doesn't do the same as Shadow Play as far as I know. The main feature of shadow player other then on-demand recording is the ability to save the last X minutes of game-play without having to have hit record first. The 'constant' recording. [editline]16th April 2016[/editline] But if it's doing what you need it to then sure :P
