I'd like to start by saying that I have no idea if this is the right place to do this thing, so if it's not, would appreciate if you placed it in the correct place. Sorry!
Now, to the problem. I've recently been gifted Garry's Mod, been wanting to grab the game for a while but, oh well.
Was pretty thrilled to get in-game and start doing stuff, though when I started to launch the game, the light blue screen with the 'Loading' in the bottom right corner appeared, stayed there for a few seconds, and then the game closed, with no error or anything!
I've been looking through Google for an hour or two, asking some friends if they experienced the same thing -- nothing. I found a few threads with people having the same problem here and there, but nobody seems to have solved it. So I decided to make a post myself, and see if I find a way.
I've tried a few things that people [I]claim[/I] worked for them, but none of them seem to help me in any way. I tried things such as putting the 'set launch options', adding the -dxlevel 81, adjusting width and height to match my desktop, even trying to run it windowed -- nothing works.
I'm running on Windows 8 32-bit, if that helps anything. I have a decent enough PC, exceeding the minimum and recommended requirements. Really have no idea what's the issue.
If you're experiencing this problem or well, DID, I'd really like to find out how you solved it. Cheers!
Have you tried re-installing the game? (Steam Client -> RMC on garry's mod -> Delete local content...)

Try this. It fixed my game when it suddenly started crashing all the time.

I am having about the same issue except my loading screen just stays it doesn't go away it just stays there and within a minute crashes my PC. The only thought on what could be causing it is high use of data that garrys mod uses someone help?

Nope, nothing. Same thing happens. Plain light blue screen, loading in corner; few seconds later it closes.
Me too i tried pretty much anything plz help
Bump? This is still going on, have the game for a solid week and still can't play. Anyone?
