Gmod bandwidth usage when just playing on a server?

Hello, how much bandwidth does gmod use when just playing (not downloading models or anything) on a server? I know the models etc can be huge, but just want to have an idea how much actually playing uses. Thanks

You can change the console setting "rate" to limit the amount of bandwidth.

Typing "rate 50000" in console will result in 50kb/sec.

Generally I play at "rate 180000", or the max possible. That gives me 100kb/sec, so its up to you.

NOTE: Depending on the server this could really make you lag. And don't join servers with a lot of content, because there could easily be 100+mb of addons to download.
