Looking for a version of GDC that works, or an equivlent.

I know that a while ago an update to Gmod broke the GDC weapon sounds, and that shortly after a fix was released for GDC that solved the problem. We'll I've been away from Gmod for quite some time now, and now the fix doesn't work any more.

Moving the hotfix script files around between folders hasn't given me a solution, so does anyone know what the current fix is? Alternatively if someone wants to point me towards a pre-fixed version or even just a half decent equivalent I would be grateful.

EDIT: I may have found a solution through continued googleing, [URL="http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1244349"]ACF[/URL] seems to be the best choice for this sort of thing, unless one of you can recommend something better.

As far as I know, GDC is no longer being developed and ACF is the next best thing.

Yeah, I'm just trying to find a way to get it without svn, I play with a small group, most of whom hate svn with a passion.
