So when trying to run a map gmod comes up then says no steam user
Are you using Hamachi or some sort of VPN or proxy?

When you say you're trying to "run a map", can you explain exactly what you're trying to do? There are a few different possible meanings so I want to make sure I know just what it is you're having trouble with.
Are you unable to use Gmod at all (as in, this happens if you're just trying to get a single-player map started)?
found the problem
steam wasn't turning on at startup
