When the client is running, if I change my default playback device from desk speakers to headset, the sound doesn't automatically change. I have to go into "Options -> Audio" and change the "Speaker Mode" to a different setting. It doesn't matter which one, but this is required before the game acknowledges the new default device.
This brings up the next issue. Conducting this change causes a major audio issue. Almost all sounds come in fuzzed/distorted. The only way to fix this issue is to restart the client.
I have already verified that my drivers are up to date and have gone through Steam to "verify integrity of game files".
Ought to be a fun applications development challenge!
