I have been playing longer than most people. That would be version 4 from 2005, ahhhh the good ol' days. Back when instead of a spawn menu you had a bunch of buttons you press to spawn props and ragdolls. There has certainly been a huge improvements between 2004 and 2011. And it's far from over.

I was playing back when you had to download lua files while you were actually on the server, what version is that?

I played a bit of Garry's Mod 9. When I bought Garry's Mod, it was about a month before Garry added chairs.
Around version 4.
I've spent over 6 years playing Garry's Mod, and I'll tell ya, I've had some damn good times that I'll never forget.
