Our server is running GMOD in a linux(Centos 64-bit) environment, and now ever since the update today the server has not been giving us a working cache file. When it starts up, the server just throws out a blank cache file(0 bytes) that does not work. Is anyone else having this problem?
Could you give us an error log by adding -debug to your command line? OR a snippet of your console? Serverside: As I'm getting this error since the update
Client "Chemi" connected (86.28.*HIDDEN*.*HIDDEN*:27005). terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc' what(): std::bad_alloc ./srcds_run: line 348: 38828 Segmentation fault (core dumped) $HL_CMD Add "-debug" to the ./srcds_run command line to generate a debug.log to help with solving this problem Tue Aug 24 13:15:30 MDT 2010: Server restart in 10 seconds
Clientside: The user is just left hanging on downloading the LUA Cache file. woow, I thought I was the only one with this problem, I'm using serverffs and I'm using linux too and after the new update my server doesn't work, The server is just making cache files that are 0kb, I emailed serverffs and this was there response:
Dear [hidden], Okay, both garry's mod and team fortress 2 (for the server files) are fully updated, you will have to contact Facepunch and file a bug. Regards, Wouter van Eekelen
Ok, the best thing to do here is to Email Garry the 'Bug' or issue with a Dump file.
Where can I find the dump file?
(on your server) C:\dumps or the root of linux
Stuff here..
Email this to Garry
I'm glad it's not just a user error then. Atleast we are all in the same boat. EDIT: Emailed Garry.
Btw, here are my dump files: http://dugong.serverffs.com/242d97eb-53a3-77e2-00654539-4f0da5a9.dmp http://dugong.serverffs.com/7dbbd1ab-4d91-760c-12cc8e72-34fa73b3.dmp Btw: how can I contact garry?
It seems Garry has multiple Email addresses. But I know he reads from support@garrysmod.com. That's where I emailed.
or Email them here: http://www.garry.tv/?page_id=274
Okay, I emailed him =D
Same problem here, Linux server and happened right after the update.
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc' what(): std::bad_alloc
what() lol
It's weird how come he released this update at such a time of day. Without offense here, I'd release it in the morning as soon as I got into work, and then watch the flow of bug reports fly in.

I'm UK too, he posted it at around 7:30PMish here as far as I know.

AH, my bad. I did not take that into consideration.
What about client side console is anyone else having a problem opening it?? Nvm I restarted gmod for the 5th time and it worked....
My clan's server is having the same problem. Gonna keep an eye on this thread.
Me too i've got the same cache bug on my serverffs
I just switched off CENTOS too, had the same problem and just contacted to host Windows :)
So you switched to windows because of this? That's a bit over the top isnt it? Wouldnt it be easier just to wait and see if it's fixed and not have to spend stupid amounts on a huge OS? EDIT: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?p=24335002#post24335002 See here.
