Can anyone post a link to that thread that told you how to downgrade to source 2007 please?
It's possible if you dont have updates on and you don't play multiplayer which i don't plan on.
Yeah, that was going to be my question. Why?
Yeah, that was going to be my question. Why?
Because an FX5500 does'nt run source very well, and 07' source is less demanding.
it does.
I assume you have the old files? http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=481649 PS: It's by me, it's my alt.
Because an FX5500 does'nt run source very well, and 07' source is less demanding.
Just out of curiosity: On what PC do you plan to play? An FX5500 is nearly 7 years old so I wonder.

I wanna try! :ghost:
Can you PM me a link to these old files? I'd like to try this
Sorry, I don't have them anymore. Since then I've upgraded my PC and never looked back. A 100 USD graphics card should get you running GMod flawlessly. God, that's the card I used when I wrote that tutorial. I hated the engine update because it bogged down my PC.
Source 2009 makes Intel cards crash when it render particles, Source 2007 does not. [editline]04:45PM[/editline] Also you should be able to use the SVN to get the old files.
Get a better card.
Don't use a 6200, it isn't good for good games accept HL2 on minimum settings.
There was a mod that I can't find any more that required you had GMod and appeared in your Steam Game menu as "Garrysmod 2007 engine"
Don't use a 6200, it isn't good for good games accept HL2 on minimum settings.
My integrated 6100 can run HL2 on max at 1600x1200 and get about 100 FPS. Well, I should mention that it was BEFORE Valve put HL2 on the EP2 engine, but...

Care to upload it for us? :v:
Don't use a 6200, it isn't good for good games accept HL2 on minimum settings.
It's dedicated, not integrated, there's a big difference, even an FX5500 can play HL2 on high so that's okay, but as i said im getting a new pc soon :downs: and why do people underestimate these cards? theyre good for what they do and when they were released, god, the FX5500 was released in 03' from what i know.
Wat. My 8800gt OC'd on max never even hit past 80.
I just laughed at how i knew that should'nt work. [editline]02:57PM[/editline]
CSS is using almost the same engine as GMod.
CS:S uses a different build alltogether, even an intel chipset can run CS:S on low okay but not gmod. -snip double post-
They have the same graphical requirements. I.e. they are both Source 2009.
They have the same graphical requirements. I.e. they are both Source 2009.
Then how does CS:S work so much better? i knew Gmod handles memory like a fucking goat but not that bad
Source isn't meant to handle all of GMod's physics stuff. And have you tried defragging the games? It does increase performance.

And have you removed addons from GMod?
reinstall gmod.
