I'm new to skinning and I wanted to reskin hair color. I'm using GIMP for my editing and VTF edit to convert vtf to tga. I open up the tga into gimp and recolor it using the "colorize" option. After I'm done I save it and open it up in VTF edit and it looks like it messed up somehow. I didn't think it wouldn't work so I tried it anyway and in game the texture is just pink and black.

You can see in the import that the side turned purple which is why it may not be working correctly in game?
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. :/
Looks like VTFEDIT doesn't like transperant? Make it all black? :/

Didn't work. It needs to be transparent.
