[Half-Life 2] RoleplayReborn.net - Garry's Mod

Roleplay Reborn is a serious roleplay community on Garry's Mod, with skilled players, and admins that are active almost 24/7 (seriously, the admin team is pretty active). We're pretty strict with both the players and admins, and will help any new players. While we are strict, we're not unfair. We're not going to ban you for making an honest mistake. While RP is strict, and has to follow a set of rules, we do allow players to have fun (unlike some other communities, who either let people run around with RPGs, or basically lock you in a box and don't let you do anything). Unlike other servers, there are many fun things for citizen/civilian players to do, all you have to do is to look around a bit. Join the HL2RP Server, at: 204.27.56.26:27015 We're running the Hl2rp Schema on the Nexus Base gamemode. We're fairly new, we're intending to run Hl2rp and have a few other gamemodes. We own a dedicated server with Ventrilo. -Tokens and business system -SQL character saving system -Metropolice Force Ranking System -Character recognizing System. -Character Stat System -Realistic Fall Damage -Utilized Weapon and Ammo Base. -Ability to pick up objects with your hands. -Realistic damage system with Knock-outs. -Over 60 role-playing items -14 role-playing weapons -Storage system -Ownable door system -Combine lock system -Various citizen and combine animations. -Various chat features, /yell, /whisper, // ooc .// local ooc and of course the /me action ability. -Zip tie and tied up system. -Weathermod and Conna's Tool Pack -And many more! Our server isn't 100% canon, we wanted to try to make it so everyone can have the chance to have fun, rather than citizens just standing around all day. Don't let this confuse you though, we have a strict Metropolice force. We need more information that sets you AWAY from the 5-6 other servers run the same Half-life 2 schema and even using the Half-life 2 storyline.

The server has admins on 24/7, we have INCREDIBLY serious roleplayers, if you can roleplay well it'd be good if you join. We're looking for good roleplayers as we remove most minges, trolls, etc. Newbies to rp are welcome, as long as you don't minge.

This may look like another Ad for one of the many HL2RP servers out there, but the community and script is truly unique and very entertaining; It's one of the few serious RPs I've played that (Like Barno said) is actually fun without giving everyone RPGs and admin guns or locking you in an empty apartment for 5 hours. There's many opportunities to integrate into the entertaining Roleplay whether you've been with the community 1 day or 2 years. As stated before, the script and community is very entertaining; There's many items/commands/etc to utilize in RP, and the script and server setup is of high quality, no laggy DarkRP traits. The playerbase is overall friendly and helpful, and create interesting RP experiences that otherwise wouldn't happen.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but i cant add the server to favourites or connect to it. Do i need half life 2 for this to work?

So, here's my story concerning this server: About two months ago a friend of mine for about a year called Reeves asks me to play here, then invites me to a chatroom with the admin for the MPF. Turns out they've got a position missing for JURY EpU and since I've lead squads on other servers they say I can do it. I come on the next day and it turns out the other admins doubt my abilities to be EpU, I figure this is fair enough but I'm still annoyed about it so I leave for a bit while I'm busy because I'd rather not be wasting time working through ranks when I could be revising for exams etc. I come back yesterday because I've got a bit of free time and I feel like HL2RP, why not? I make an application for HELIX and everything is going dandy until the same admin staff decide they don't like me being a RCT without an application (they whitelisted me in the first place) and so reject my HELIX app and ban my RCT. They tell me I can apply for MPF and then rejoin, but since I've already wasted a lot of time being bored of out my mind on their server I decide this is a bad idea and a waste of time. tl;dr shitty server shitty admins

Metanar, you were whitelisted to become the Jury EpU, we didn't use you because you left for 2 months without saying anything. Two months later you're back, you think you can slide into the MPF without a new application, even though there have been various checks on activity, you never had a recruit and to have a recruit you have to apply, whether you would have been a EpU at one point or not.

I joined, arrested. Crashed, banned. *Sigh*

One of their owners is just, terrible. And the server was fun but now that they removed all the good people its pretty bad.

I rejoined later on because I couldn't be fucked to spend the time inbetween getting messed about by you. I rejoin and I get messed about further. Oh dear. Also I had that recruit since two days before I was told I couldn't be EpU.

We had activity checks as I said before, you never posted you don't get a recruit.

You've wasted a lot of my time that I could have spent considerably wiser, which is the reason I didn't play on your servers when I was first messed about with. I'd advise you to play to the crowd, I've already left the auditorium.

Nobody told you you couldn't be EpU, we had you on the roster and you never showed up.

/facepalm Alyousha35 here. I let some of the admins post a thread and it collapses into a near flame war. Metanar. You never went through the training and recruitment process, and were never there for the activity check. Too bad to whatever Cuddles says. You don't get a unit unless you go through the application process. This applies to all players, even the admins. We all had to apply. I literally own the whole freaking community, and even I had to apply. @RoleplayWord: You did not crash. When a user crashes, their char is frozen in place and does not respond to damage or gravity. You were being arrested, and left to avoid it. Your char immediately disappeared and the disconnect warning showed up. @everyone else: Stop flaming simply because you either want to destroy the competition and support your own communities, or are butthurt because you got banned. No, don't bother denying it.

This server isn't great. I went on and all you do is walk around.

[/QUOTE] Then pull your admin team together, you can say whatever you want but if your admins contradict you what you said means jack all. From my limited experience of your community it is an incredibly dull rendition of HL2RP with an admin team held together around aswell as graphite, nice layers of admins with terrible bonds between them. I did not see any roleplay during the few days I spent on your server and the fact you want me to sit through being bored out of my skull while more than half the server are AFK or running around spawning fountains is frankly the most stupid idea I've ever seen perpetuated in a community. If you want to continue running a shambles until your community collapses due to everyone getting sick of how it is run then keep this up. If you want to have a successful community you need to: -Ditch applications (Make everything in-character) -Ditch the idea that admins get whatever they want (Quin Tasin has EVERY whitelist on the server and manages a lot of things) -[U]Reward[/U] roleplay, give people chances -Pull your admins together -Improve your setting, the standard HL2RP theme you have picked is always done in a boring and undeveloped fashion, this community is no exception to this trend -Make things easy to change, HL2RP doesn't work well with this, maybe it's time to rethink your style of HL2RP if you aren't going to ditch it (I have had ideas in the past of having a HL2RP roleplay server where everyone lives in a treacherous area like a cave or a mine with the resistance) -Get some more admins, you do NOT have 24 hour admin supervision like you [U]advertise[/U] in your summary -Find some players active during the GMT timezone, most of the time your server is empty -Find something to make you different, you're just anouther bland community with a bland storyline and a bland couple of servers with bland roleplay and everything is [B]bland[/B] I don't care what you do, I'm not coming back to your community either way. You've lost out on a lot by losing me, you want to make it so you don't continue to push people away in the future, unless you don't want to do that and instead you want to keep all the power to your central group of roleplayers and keep everyone else in the underling zone. That's fine too, I can imagine those four or five people benefiting from your hierarchy having loads of fun. Anyway, facepunch don't really like HL2RP (quite rightly so, really, it's never done right), you're in the wrong place to advertise.
