I recently got garrys mod on my new computer. It didn't work... flatgras would load but I couldn't really do anything.
Later on I checked the files in the folders and they were not there... There is nothing in addons, maps etc... some tools make the game crash! does anyone know a solution to this proble as I've been waiting to play garrys mod for quite a while and this is starting to irritate me.
(It now freezes of the final bar of loading of every map i think)
Please help if you can!
the bad thing is I reinstalled it again to find the files stll missing... it also causes my computer to reset and how do i verify cache integrity?

Where and how did you get Gmod?
You aren't supposed to have anything in your GMod folder when you first install it on a computer, all the files are in GFC's.
I got it off steam... GFCs? I've installed garrys od on my othe computer before... could this be part of the problem?

I am sooo getting banned for unhelpful comment... unless I suggest you use the gmod cleaning procedure. It's pretty much renaming your garrysmod/garrysmod folder to something else. You might say "But I have nothing to clean! The problem is [U]missing files[/U]". Well! Since it creates a new one it should have the files in it. For me reinstalling usually has no changes in files OR add-ons!
That still didn't work... this is about the time I just think of not having Gmod for a while... maybe i'll download it another time and reinstall it and it will work anohertime... or anyone has copies of the files I need... please?
If it still makes you crash after you tried all the suggestions, it must be something else - and not your Gmod installation.
Graphics or Steam or something.

If you're not a pirate, best thing to do would be to delete the Garry's Mod folder aswell as all the realated Garry's Mod GCF files in Steamapps.
Then Delete Local Content on Steam and redownload.

All I can say is try reinstalling, but I think you tried that. :saddowns:
