• How to Yellow Zone RP: Command And Conquer RP Revival (Again)
Yellow Zone RP Rules and Guidelines This is a Command and Conquer Tiberian Universe RP theme set for Garry’s Mod 10 Light or Dark RP mod. Ingredients: What things you will need to add to your server. • At least GMOW for GMOD10 o This is the best, as the Hum-Vee is GDI’s low budget recon/attack unit  Color it yellow/gold o Buggies make for NOD, they are simple and make sense • Tiberium Lua SEnts o Get Lynix’s o I plan on modeling a classic Tiberium Blossom Tree and Vinifera crystal formation for a v 2.0 of Lynix’s Tiberium SEnt. • Light\Dark RP gamemode. o Use the rp_ow command to assign GDI soldiers o Use the rp_cp to assign GDI peacekeepers or NOD Infiltrators o Rostered NOD need to be disguised, they cannot overtly be put on a NOD player group/team unless there’s a NOD assault. • A good map o Best one By far is csc_desert_v2-1, if you need it, it can be found here: http://www.captsupercow.com/ o At the time of me typing this, there is an RP map in on and off development: http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showthread.php?t=354468  Mappers, if any of you read this go to this thread and please help out! • PHX Model pack, just because it’s really good to have • Punchy Punch fists SWEP • Weapon Suite: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=5372 *NOTE, Purely on YOUR decision below this line!* • Exo-Sounds I plan on making a sound pack with EVA’s voice from some C&C game. Only get it if a sound pack is available. • BHM TAC guns V2: I decided to add this because the only guns NOD are allowed otherwise are the silenced TMP’s. • http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showthread.php?t=240963 Rules There is a fine line between DMing and Guerilla War. GDI may not simply blast a person they think is NOD, It may be a civilian who does not know better or be convinced against NOD. GDI takes prisoners. NOD’s battle doctrine is one of stealth, If you have been given permission to be NOD by an admin, you are not to kill GDI on site unless the commanding NOD officer give the go ahead (Or an admin “relays” the message to you) Nod loves an interrogation. They too take prisoners If killed in a raid type situation, your killer has the option of choosing whether or not they caught you or let you go. You shouldn’t get a gun unless an admin grants you one, not if you ask for one. To Admins: If asked for a gun by a non-official NOD member, don’t. Official NOD members can have an admin arm civilians with AK-47’s if they have been “Swayed by the spirit hand of Kane.” (This can mean drugged or truly convinced) They can also keep a secret weapon store or steal from GDI using weapon-suite to store boxes of guns. Civilians are allowed their own opinions. GDI are given their orders via satellite (from the communications bunker through a Communications Technician (NOT a high ranking officer unless the rp dictates that the com system is dead, usually an admin or rostered member plays the role of com tech.) GDI should not call him sir in a commanding officer sort of way. Communications Technicians are neutral in that, it is the safest to be in a hotly contested zone. You should never kill your local Comm. Tech. Drugging, mind control type things are completely up to whoever decides to though. But fair warning to GDI, if word gets out about doing that, your public opinion will most likely go down. GUIDELINES First Party GDI: Sent to keep NOD away from civilians, protect an area from NOD control. Usually there to provide cover for science teams and jump start world wide relief efforts to clean up Tiberium in the area. NOD: Want to sway the masses to follow Kane into Divination. They want to unlock the full human potential with Tiberium and become one with ‘the sacred element’. Kane is the leader of this ancient order. NOD citizens/troops say things like: “Peace through power”, “For the technology of peace!”, and the most common one “One Vision, One Purpose”. The Brotherhood sees GDI as fools who are standing in the way of human development and a threat to the cause. They want Tiberium to spread. Second party The Forgotten: The largest of the many people shunned from society, the most civilized, yet deadliest type of mutant you can encounter is a Forgotten. They have the largest communications network of any mutant community. They span the whole of the Americas and some of Europe. They are also the most organized. When not pre-occupied with internal affairs, Mutant soldiers put themselves up for hire. GDI has offered them help in the past allowing them access to some GDI technology. NOD is mostly responsible for the creation of The Forgotten from early Tiberium Infusion experiments gone horribly wrong. Tiberium grows on the bodies of mutants. A common derogatory term for them is “Shiner” Used to the point where it is no longer an insult, but another word for “Tiberium infused person(s)”. Mutant is often more offensive, but they still prefer to be called The Forgotten. Most other types of mutants are mentally unstable and extremely violent. A trait all mutants have in common is increased strength. Only members of the forgotten can still function mentally on a normal level. Unfortunately, not everyone realizes this, so they are shunned and ridiculed in society. Other mutants outside The Forgotten are usually referred to as Tibos (Contraction of Tiberium and Hobo). As an outreach program, GDI manufactured several prefab shelters and airlifted them into the slightly more Tiberium infested yellow zones along red zone borderlands to give mutants and Tibos dwelling places. Many took to these new homes instantly setting up small tribes within the fairly large structures. Third Party: Any corporation or organization you want to implement usually works.
Really, the rules are more like guidelines. Ultimately, it is up to the head of the server. Current Server Rules: Any person(s) not following server storyline will be banned for an ammount of time fitting the scale of the attmepted Cannon Hijack. If you do not care about the story line and have no interrest for it, don't bother showing up. EDIT: Join the group, new members always welcome! http://steamcommunity.com/groups/CommandandConquerRP SERVER IP CHANGED Server IP: 38.100.235.219:27015 Story time frame: During the end of the Firestorm Crisis. (Not the best, yet, but it serves us well now.) Server is a little slow at the moment due to users not being aware of it being back up. As a precaution: You must join the group before declaring alleigance to a faction.
I like it, is seems really useful Edit: Add where to get lua scripts and etc?
Okay, thanks. And all you others out there, constructive criticism is much appreciated.
I like the idea, rules and such alot, i would go for a GDI if i "join". You get a goldstar from me. Passworded server and such please.
I have a friend who plans on setting up a dedicated RP at least some time in the future. Last time he ran it he put me in charge for a bit and I ran this, seemed like people liked it. Even those who did not have prior knowledge of C&C had fun. My friend and I go back a long ways, to the days of my small Gmod 9 RP server running rp_cityx007. Daxter Fellowes is the only person I would ever trust to run a gun shop. But that's aside the point. I think some lenience could be made with the stringent gun policy. Citizens should be allowed small sidearms at most. GDI standard issue pistols are usually something of a high caliber like magnums or Night Hawks. In fact, that is the standard issue pistol, a Night Hawk. NOD is more discreet about firearms. usually keeping something inconspicuous and having a silencer handy. Upper ranking officers get lasers(red). That's all I can say about that. Anyone below that rank get whatever they can get their hands on. In fact, I think the test to allow someone into the upper echelons of the Brotherhood should be to steal a weapon of any type.
Daxter will be sometimes hosting yellow zone, so if you want to come, ask jeffman for more details.
Get me details, maps, scripts, and whatever else and I'll set it up.
Actually, we've had more demand for the rp rather than spacebuild, and the spacebuild server has rp loaded onto it. give me the details, and I'll set it up. there's no need to make an entirely new server.

Yes.
Okay, well, map suggestions are welcome. I can no longer run cscdesert. We need a map that can accomidate Tiberium growth in some way. RP_forresttown would be wonderfull were it finished or even making progress. What maps would you like to see in use?
I'm In! Edit: Can i drive a Harvester and like, start the Cleanup of the Tiberium? I'll use my Modified Whale Version 5 Heavy Duty Carryall, known for launching nukes out of its CargoBay; it has plenty of room on the Roof for Lifesupport and inside it can grab a Tiberium Siphon or 3.

Just an idea, but this RP seems great, thumbs up.
Actually, the problem's worse. I can't run Gmod without it crashing. Edit: Nevermind! It works now.
Now the only problem is Prop protect needs removed...Rsugar.
We will be using a modified Dark RP script that will have a couple new classes added, hopefully Mutants will be immune/benefit from Tiberium, and It's rediculously hard to obtain anything other than a sidearm if you're civilian.
Don't use DarkRP! Your server will be overrun with Mingebags before you even know whats happening!
He's right. DarkRP in MingeBag language is something along the lines of 'Free guns, come play CS:S here!'.
It's under a different name. And the guns are far from free.
"don't use darkrp!" "It's true it's says....play cs:s here!" "It's under a different name...guns are far from free" Darkrp is a great script to mod out, just be sure to mod it well and make it so people can't just buy guns and stuff while they are a civi etc. I love C&C ! The original one for win 95 is the best. This could prove to be an interesting roleplay.
Weapons, like I said, no worries. I'm fairly certain that weapons are only available to those with the pocket book of Kane. Or GDI for that matter. General rule of the mutants: Keep what you steal. If the script works as planned, there will be 3 Mutant Sergeants(Mob bosses) in the mutant tribe/colony. Each of those Sergeants has 3 mutants who answer to them in a combat situation. Well, we're currently trying to make it a blend of TS and C&C 3 as those are the ones people seem to be more familiar with. Honestly, I like C&C Gold a lot myself. Anyone who's interested should join the group, it'll help us organize things a little better. As my particular take on the story goes, General Solomon is on the Philadelphia as the ranking general. Gotta love James Earl Jones.
General rule of the mutants: Keep what you steal.
And THAT, is where i come in. My name is Apoc, and i am Senior Mechanic for the Forgotten. We maintain a small, abandoned mining base in the desert that is kept locked down at all times, and has assorted base defence towers and turrets scavenged from assorted places. We have already established deep technological roots in the Tech Trees of Nod AND GDI, and have modified a few civilian vehicles to fit our needs as well. We keep what we steal, we bring it back to the mechanics, and the mechanics modify things to best fit our needs. ANYTHING is a weapon if you set it right. //Edit. I fucking love you Idah.
I'm removing the prop protect now.
The server is currently down at the moment thanks to the southern-Californian fires and a nasty virus. They should be back any time. But don't let this hamper joining our wonderful group. Contact Apocalypsox should you want to join The Forgotten, and contact me if you want to declare allegiance to Nod or GDI (I've sworn neutrality in this subject matter, strictly OOC) For GDI, you may also contact Treelor, as he's pretty much in charge of GDI. Unfortunately, I cannot reveal the identity of the Nod leader as it is very secret and we are limiting knowledge of their identity to Superadmins/Upper echelon admins and the like.
What timezone is this, C&C 1, 2, or 3?
During/Between the Firestorm Incident and the TW III.
Any time frame for the server?
See my post above. I will append it to the first post. Good News! The server is back. Not this very second (Being 5:57, October 29) due to an installation gone wrong, but not horribly wrong. The server will be up again shortly.
