• Garry's Mod - Stereoscopic 3d idea?

Hi guys it's my first post so I would just like to say Hi :) Anywho, just wanted really to ask a little question regarding Stereoscopic 3d and Garry's Mod really. Will there ever be Stereoscopic 3d in Garry's Mod natively? If not I have had an idea and I guess this could be a suggestion for 3D in GMOD. Currently, I use Tridef's 3D Software to play 3D Games as I have AMD and not 3D Vision. It uses profiles to play with games to make them 3d, for things like default depth etc. It's backed by a big community who provide non-official profiles. You have the option to add a game manually by profile and game etc. Because GMOD is part of the source community would I just be able to use the HL2 Profile to make it 3D or would that not work? Thanks, WhaleTrain
Nvidia has a stereoscopic 3D toolkit that allows most 3D modes in a large list of videogames, though I'm not sure if AMD has any similar offerings for their graphics cards. FOr the moment, I doubt such a thing will be implemented, as there surely aren't enough players that would use the features to warrant the added time it would take to code and implement such a change. That having been said, if Valve ever adds such a feature, I'm sure Garrysmod would have the feature implemented by default.
Oh ok thanks for the reply. In my Tridef 3D software there is a profile for HL2 to be used in Stereostopic 3D. Do you think I could use that for Gmod by using the HL2 profile but pointing it towards GMOD instead? I think I wouyld have to fine the app launch link in order for it to work i suppose? like steam://...
The Nvidia one is utter shit, and inbuilt in Gmod would be a better solution.
The Nvidia one is utter shit, and inbuilt in Gmod would be a better solution.
There's one built in Garry's Mod 13. But the viewmodels are messed up.
It's in the beta.
Is there a tutorial or something I can use to enable it?
The Nvidia one is utter shit, and inbuilt in Gmod would be a better solution.
The NVidia solution is not bad at all. For what it does and what it works with, it's just fine.
If you have a Nvidia card... 1. Right click desktop 2. Click "Set up stereoscopic 3D" 3. Click the checkbox Enable stereoscopic 3D 4. Put your 3d glasses on 5. Play Garry's mod... If there is any problems reply to me. And i don't think Garry's Mod will have a setting where you can "enable/disable" stereoscopic 3d :v:
I have an addon that does sterioscopic 3D. It works by rendering the world twice, once from where each eye would be. Then it colors each side, then blends them together into a single texture. This texture is then rendered to screen. If you would like me to send you a copy, send me a message in steam.
GMod 13 has a kinda-stereoscopic thing.
Hello, just a little update really on the 3D aspect. I literally JUST got a beta key and found the 3D option. The problem is that, well what I think the problem is, is that when it is split apart the images it doesn't seem to join up as well when switching my monitor to "Side-by-Side". I put the glasses on but the 3D does not do 3D. It joins up and all that but there is no 3D and it just gives me a lot of strain, Any chance you can help? I'm using a HD 6850 with an LG D2342P...
