Hello, I'm new here and new to computer gaming. I'm probably the 100 lad to say this but how do you make G-mod stop motion videos? How do I view the photos I've taken with the snapshot tool and how do the cameras work?... Meaning, How do you take films with them? I have a sony vegas trial, would that be good enough? I'm pretty much a noob with G-mod.
Well, the general idea of a stop motion film is to take a picture of any amount of props or ragdolls in one scene. Then essentially moving the props or ragdolls just a bit to show movement after playing the screenshots fast in some program. With that said once you have enough screenshots to show your full array of movement you wanna capture go to: C:>Program Files(maybe x86 if your on 64 bit system)>Steam>steamapps>(your username)>garrysmod>garrysmod>screenshots. That should take you right to all your pictures. Add them to sony vegas (add them to the timeline in sequential order), then click on the right side of each image and drag them to the left. This will shorten there time. Im not good with this part but I'd say make them last no longer then .2 secconds? If you cant see that close then hold ctrl and scroll in to zoom into your timeline. If you have any other questions I might be able to answer them. Im pretty decent in Sony Vegas I guess.
Thanks

I recommend H.A.T. if you are getting impatient or frustrated with stop-motion. It's really cool and easy. http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=115272 Oh and welcome to Facepunch and enjoy your stay.
Make a camera to view your scene. Then, every time you make a change you can go back and take a screen shot in the same location every time. if you dont use your actual camera tool for a snap shot then make ure to use cl_drawhud 0

Since this question is so frequently asked in threads like this, I figured I might as well ask before someone else does. I don't have the dosh to buy Vegas. What do?
An easy way i do it is Render> Camera on the specified location. Then use the actual camera tool whilst viewing the camera to take pictures with frapps or some screen capture device, or even steam's built-in screen capture. Then pose the ragdolls etc to what's best suited. The camera always stays in the position so the object or ragdoll your trying to animate does not move all over the screen. I hope i helped
This guy makes some good tutorials http://www.youtube.com/user/PsycoRevolution Here is the first one
Thanks guys, I'll come back if I need anymore help

I have a powerful laptop and the frame rates are worse then fraps when I play the animation I've made. It slows down everything in the scene to a crawl With fraps I can get up 40 frames, but that thing just crashes it to nothing. Stop motion by hand works better then that tool.
I recommend it too, but the bad thing about HAT is it's very glitchy :(
