HUGE project! - Garry's Mod

Hi guys this is my very first thread so i have no idea how this works but i have a BIG project aka MOD/gametype/gamemode this can very well become a real mod but i need pro modders and modelers to help me out Basically i want to make a Nerf gun GameType and with REAL working Nerf guns in gmod 13 (gmod 13 is my suggestion seeing that it has a better engine etc.) im not a very good modder or modeler ive never really built anything but i have a big idea and please follow me on this... What i want to make is a game-mode that has Nerf guns in it with good models and good bullet drop and fun!!! how it works 1.you start out rank 1 as you kill players you gain xp/poins 2.you can use these points to buy 1,better Nerf guns. 2, better addons for your Nerf gun. the way this works is that anyone that has played or has a Nerf gun knows what addons are theres a laser pointer a scope a extended barrel etc. and when people choose per say i wanna have a scope and a laser pointer on my Nerf N-Strike Longstrike CS-6(a type of gun you can look it up) then the gun will act differently without its main barrel but it gives a bonus to close combat... please contact me on steam to know what you think and if your interested in helping me. username: 2tsf9

There are three things wrong with your post and/or idea. Let me outline them for you: 1. Your idea, [I]however good you may thing it is[/I], isn't going to happen unless you make it happen. You're posing this idea of yours to people you hope will make it for you, but you're bringing no experience to the table. There's absolutely no need for this post, and here's why; If you can't do it yourself, completely forget about posting the idea, because chances are if it's a good idea it's been done already. If you don't see it, it's probably not a good idea. 2. Your idea has not been expressed intelligently. Seriously, your grammar, punctuation, and general sense of English syntax is so unbelievably rudimentary that nobody here is going to take you seriously. It's a bit too late now, but you haven't projected any intelligence or forethought by posting the way you posted. If you had taken a few minutes to type out in proper English your ideas and really thought out what you were trying to say [I]as any intelligent person should[/I], you might have gotten somewhere. At the very least, people wouldn't have blown you off as a '12 year old ideas guy'. 3. Your idea is unoriginal and uninspired. You may not see it, but there is so few unique qualities about your idea that it wouldn't be worth making in the first place. Deathmatch game modes have been done to death, and what you're proposing isn't half as interesting as some of the more boring ones. It doesn't sound entertaining or fun in any way to me personally, and I'm sure others would agree. If you learned how to make this yourself (and believe me there are plenty of resources around here that can help you with that) and you implemented it flawlessly, I'd give about a 97% chance that barely anyone would play it. That translates directly into wasted effort on the side of the developer, compounded by the fact that it would all be for no profit whatsoever (You couldn't ever profit off this anyways since you'd be using licenced trademarks that I doubt you'd get the rights to display without huge royalties being imposed). Call of duty with nerf guns?

Frankly, the grammar is terrible, and nerf guns don't really appeal to people. In addition, you didn't specifically take key points or even elaborate on a few details. It's also not a project, as it hasn't even launched into development. There are [I]crucial[/I] steps for even creating a good idea, let alone persuading people to develop it. You need to set out everything thoroughly and pointedly, with sharp and imaginative language. Next, it is paramount that you don't involve other people's ideas like ranks (seeing how it has been overused to breaking point). To really elaborate, you need to convey serious points and also take a part in this 'big idea'. Ideas mean nothing if you're not willing to get off your ass and do something for it, even if it's complex. If you think this is complex, then what's the point? Finally, think about the actual pros and cons of what the gamemode would have; nerf guns are not a very good idea for a game that already has guns. You can get away with ridiculous weapons, but nerf guns don't fall in a category that people will play. The less wacky or serious it is, the faster it gets dull. And most importantly: No God Damn Perks. [B]MrWhite pretty much summed that up for you there, and his points are definitely [I]to the point[/I].[/B]

Why Nerf Guns? It's an original idea, but in my opinion I wouldn't play it.

Any type of deathmatch in Garry's Mod always grew old after about 25 minutes of play. If I want to go play a conquest/deathmatch game I'll go launch Battlefield 2.
