So I download a weapon pack (Kermites shotgun pack to be precise), the info says "addons"
I put the file into the "Addon" folder of "garrysmod"
I start up the game... And... No new weapons?
What is going on?

Hm, I never had this problem before but I'll try to help.
Do you have Half-Life 2? If you don't, then that could be the problem.
Which weapon pack, where did you put it and what did you put in there?
are you using winrar and did you extract all three of the files (extract all... extract here and extract to *************/) ?
i usually take copy the material,lua etc. to the garrysmod folder unless it says addon in the first folder
