water see-through - Garry's Mod

Help me all the maps i look at in gmod whitch have water in them all i see is the ground below the water. but when i am in the water i can see the water. i have re-installed gmod and it is still there. YES MY GMOD IS STEAM i have 1.50 gb of ram and 1.73 ghz prosessor. i am using windows vista. i would put pics but this is first post and i am a noob at facepunch and dont know how. can someone help me? plz

For the image, its simple. 1) Upload to any imagehosting site (filesmelt, imageshack, etc.) 2) Copy the direct link to the image 3) Add image tags around it, so it would look something like [noparse][img]direct link of image here[/img][/noparse] Then just post and see if something went wrong

I tried resisting the temptation to say "but water [i]is[/i] see-through :v:" but I simply can't. Also, what graphics card do you have?

Have you modified any water textures?

OP's GPU can't handle water shaders, so it decides to not render them at all. Only solution is getting a better GPU. If you can't (if you're using a laptop) then just get a new computer.

Put graphics settings on minimum (if they're not already). If that doesn't work, right-click Gmod in your Steam games list, the Properties, then "Set Advanced Launch Options". Type in "-dxlevel 81" without the quotes, close the window then launch Gmod.
