Garry. Words can't express how much I HATE this... this new slide system.

Garry. Bring old slide system back. This is just... awful. I want to quickly change bodygroup on props but with this new system I have to waste like a 10 seconds to change in proper one.
Everybody always seems to hate new.
[editline]e[/editline] You can move your mouse up and down to scale it, I'm sorry you lost seconds of your precious time. :(

New doesn't mean better.
New doesn't mean better.
I never said it was better, I said everyone always seems to hate new.
Well, it just seems unnecessarily complicated to me.
I don't hate them entirely, but for some settings, like the bodygroup-changer, it's better to have a slider like before.
Replacing DNumSlider wasn't necessary. The new slider system is great for certain things, but adding a new vgui element, DPinchSlider or something would be better.
This feature is better than the NumberWangs from GMod 12 and I really like it (except for the fact that zooming is clamped, should be unlimited).
But why remove the sliders? They're something that don't rely on mouse sensitivity and have a fixed width. Just add the sliders back and all good features are available.
I love the new sliders.
You got more precision with the new sliders.

You got precision with the previous ones too, you know that top slider above all the others?
Also, isnt precision the reason the number box was there to begin with?

Like, have it as it was previously, just with the new slider option next to the box.
That would be ideal.
It would be better if it was not such a space hog, Especially on running on 1024x768 resolution. I litteraly have to move the camera to the side just to see what I am faceposing.
Why not add an option for the sliders? So you can decide whether to use the new or old one :)
I love the new scratch control, but I don't think having it entirely replace a control that served a different purpose was a good idea. The sliders were better for quickly getting the value you needed when high precision isn't important, like when the values only increment by whole numbers (in fact the scratch seems to break these, try adjusting the count in the stacker tool with the scratch panel and watch it freak out and possibly crash you)
Though it is new and sort of tricky to use after awhile it gets easier once you understand how to use it well
I don't understand how people hate this, I like it, it's simple and effective.
But as one of the guys above said, it isn't great if you're on a low resolution, you could toggle between slider styles I guess.

The older sliders had value steps that made it hard getting precise values.
Example: Moving the slider would make the value jump from 0.5 to 0.8 when the value you really want might be somewhere between 0.5 and 0.6.
In order to try any of the values between 0.5 and 0.6 you have to type them all manually.
That's a pain in the ass unless you already know exactly which value you want.
With the new sliders you got both precision and the ability to write values manually.
I do understand that there might be some flaws with it such as the "slider windows" being too large on smaller resolutions
but I'm sure Garry will fix that sooner or later.
I kinda like it but i prefer it if there was an advanced option or something.
I hate using it when i'm just trying to change something quick and easy.

I think my main problem with it is that its so god damn slow.

Will have to agree that they do feel slower dragging them when comparing them to the old sliders.
Could use a bit of tweaking.

I understand wanting precision, and hey, apparently it does help, but its just so slow to use.
And with stuff like the easy bodygroup tool and other things where its not a flex it can get annoying.
This is just horrible, sorry Garry you may have wasted your time on this, the good old slider combined with input box when precision is required, was enough. This is just another "bling bling" thing that I will hate being forced to use.
For the record, this is what it's like for stuff that doesn't require decimals. (Such as the bodygroup tool)

I think the best option would be the possibility of toggling between the old and new versions, that way everybody's happy.
^ SetDecimals(false)
I dont think Garry will read this nor change it.
Would be for the best if he changed it back though. I agree on that.
The old numberwang had it so that it could increment by integers only, didn't it? Just having that for the scratch panel if the input calls for it would be nice, unless that's already an option that STOOL makers need to update their shit to have.
I like the ability to get real precise with the new slider, but it's just sort of strange to use for things where precision isn't really an issue. Maybe make it so that left click uses the old slider thing and right click brings up the new one?
Garry adds shit or removes shit that no one but him wants and he isn't going to change it
arguing isn't going to change anything sadly.
Garry should check out GIMP's sliders, they're pretty useful.
The slider is basically split into two different parts;
You slide the top and the slider pointer will match up with your mouse.
You slide the bottom, and the slider pointer will instead slide by 0.01 * mouse delta, giving you great precision.
