The directory/folder "garrysmod/garrysmod/sound" isn't there. It just doesn't exist on my PC. Sound effects like gun shots, explosions, ect. work fine. This is a problem for me because if i want to put a sound track on the background of the main menu, the sound doesn't work. It's just not there even if i make a new "sound/ui" folder. Custom background images for the main menu work fine though.
Just make that folder - it isn't there by default. It works for everyone.
Remember, the new folder should be where Garry's Mod is installed - not anywhere else.
