• Many issues with change in system.

After getting the urge to play Garry's Mod, I decided to re-install everything but ran into some issues. Just to re-cap the only changes made since the last time I played Garry's Mod perfectly was when I was running under Windows XP with a 9600GT. I've now switched to Windows 7 and a 5770. I initially ran into a problem with actually getting the game to start, constantly getting this error: Googling said error leads me to a lot of things but no real solutions. I've been able to fix it by forcing any kind of -dxlevel in the launch options but that only welcomes me more problems in-game. First, none of the menus seem to operate correctly. Menus go transparent, it's hard to see shit, and any menus behind them become inoperable until I close them. I also get the start menu options and server browser frozen onto my load screen. The load screen also has white text, making it impossible to see what I'm downloading. Here's an example of the menu transparency: http://i40.tinypic.com/6fs1zd.png I decided to ignore the menu issues and entered a random gamemode server and stumbled upon massive artifacting in the UI, but never the actual in-game graphics. Healthbars switch the TF2 logo for fractions of a second and sometimes don't even load. In-game menus also lack any sort of skin, text just floats.
Did you uninstall Nvidia drivers and install ATI drivers?
Did you uninstall Nvidia drivers and install ATI drivers?
When I had installed Windows 7, it was a complete wipe of my previous contents. I've never had Nvidia drivers since.
