So basically I have no hud on any server except the chat, I can't respawn on most servers (only one I can is the Sassilization No. 6 Deathrun server) and Tab+F1 and such don't work. I've tried switching dermas to no effect, and an experienced lua coder told me I have some sort of lua virus. Now he said to reinstall but I doubt that's necessary. Wouldn't there just be a lua file somewhere I'd have to remove? I'd assume it would be in lua/autorun/, but all that's there are scripts for loading up a custom NPC I have for singleplayer. Any help please?
try deleting the cache folder in garrysmod/garrysmod (it is in the same folder as addons, materials, models, lua, etc.)
This may be a dumb question, but have you tried to fix the HUD problem typing "hidehud 0" on console?

Can't use cheat cvar hidehud in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.

So what? O_o Go on your own server or on Singleplayer, and you can freely set sv_cheats 1.
And if this thing is happening only when you connect other people servers, then i guess it's not a problem of your gmod.

That convar couldn't be set without cheats being on. Which they wouldn't be in a 'virus' server.
Delete /garrysmod/garrysmod - This will fix it, you will lose all of your addons though, so unless you want to spawn..
