What is it?
SilverMoon is a WIP gamemode that combines Spacebuild and RP to make SBRP. When you first spawn, you are asked to choose between Federation or Pirates. The Federation is the group of fleets that is the so called "police" of the galaxy. Their job is to foil attempts from the Pirates, or the "thieves" of the galaxy. The Pirates, on the other hand, are constantly in illegal activities such as illegal mining, stealing from banks, etc.
Playing as a Federation
Playing as the Federation means you are given the choice to fight pirates, trade goods from spacestation to spacestation, or starting a mining station, all to collect profits.
Federation: Trading
The main goods you trade are known as Metals. These Metals are Iron, Titanium, Silver, and Gold, in order from least cost to greatest. As you gain levels, you will soon discover higher capacity cargo holds, which allow you to carry more goods from one spacestation to another. SilverMoon will feature a fully balanced economy that will change the prices of the Metals depending on what is traded more, and the amount of mining happening on that planet.
Federation: Fighting
The further you progress though the game, the larger chance you will need a good spaceship to travel from one planet to another. Of course, the merchant Federation will be building ships with large cargo holds, while the Soldiers will most likely be building ships that are agile and powerful. A plethora of ship weapons are available in SilverMoon, and can be bought at the nearest space station. By successfully building your ship better than the Pirates, you are able to defend your inventory, and your ship. Not only that, but you may go into battle with another pirate, and earn half of each pirate killed's money, and 1/4 of the total metals that went into each prop you destroyed. Remember to keep your money in the bank, as the pirates may be more powerful than you are. Only Captians may navigate large ships, while Soldiers man the fighters. SilverMoon also will feature a full out salary system, where people may join your crew in return for intervals of pay.
Sidenote
All props have health, no matter what they are. You may not hurt any of the ships or people in your group (Federation, Pirates). You may not hurt pirates on their homeplanet, and they may not hurt you on yours.
Federation: Mining
As a Federation, you must abide the rules of the galaxy. To correctly mine a planet of its Metals, you must build your mine on plants that do not have spacestations on them. (About 50% of the planets) This includes your homeplanet, and the Pirate's homeplanet. Mining may be very productive, depending on the conditions of the planet. If a Gold planet's metals have not regenerated in a period of time, the mining of its materials may be less productive than an Iron planet that has fully regerated its Metal. The Metals mined may be sold at spacestations, or used for building props used for ships. The only problem is that you must watch out for Pirates, who may hijack your mines and steal its metals. (Pirates may steal your metals, but you may only destroy pirate mines) You may only mine your homeplanet if using a pickax, which is a lot less productive than an Automatic Drilling Station, or ADS. Mining your homeplanet is also the only way you may recover when you have lost all your money.
Federation: Jobs
Federation has a wide range of jobs.
Federation Captian - May navigate large ships, and start crews. Requires a High level.
Federation Officer - Gives commands to the Soldiers and Engineers on the ship. You may take the place of a Soldier if required. Requires a Medium-High level.
Federation Soldier - The fighters of the Federation. As a soldier, you man all cannons and fighters. You are under direct control of both the Federation Officers and the Federation Captian in your ship. Requires a Low level.
First spawn jobs:
Federation Engineer - You may build, sell, or create mines, ships, or parts for the general public. You may also be accepted to join a crew, where you repair necessary parts and build on their ship.
Federation Merchant - You are not a part of a crew. As a merchant, you may build ships only for use with trading.
Playing as a Pirate
Playing as a Pirate means that you are the outlaws of the galaxy. Your ways to progress are to fight Federation ships, hijack Federation mines, mine illegally on planets with spacestations, and stealing money from banks.
Pirates: Thieving
Stealing from banks is the easiest job a pirate may do. You are allowed to steal money from banks as long as you are not detected by the Federation. (The odds of being caught are dependent on your skill level in Thieving) Stealing takes place at the banks, located at spacestations. Thieving is also the equivalent of Trading for Federation. You may steal both money and Metals from spacestations. You may also thieve from the mines setup by Federation.
Pirates: Fighting
Fighting as a Pirate is an aggressive job. You are fighting for the sole purpose of gaining the rewards of killing player ships. You will earn 35% of each Federation killed's money, and 20% of the total metals that went into each prop you destroyed. As a Pirate, you also have access to many different weapons that are not available to the Federation, including the infamous Death Ray.
Pirates: Mining
There is only one rule as a Pirate in terms of mining: The only places you may not build are your homeplanet and the Federation homeplanet. You may mine everywhere else in the galaxy, and the rewards are very good. You must protect your mines though, as federation ships may easily destroy them.

Gamemode needs!
(1 or 2) experienced modeler(s)
An experienced mapper (Who has an idea how to build large spacebuild maps)
(Optional)(1 or 2) Lua coders who have full knowledge of the Lua language -- 1 of those includes me, Gbps.
Thanks
To whoever actually read all that, I thank you for reading.

What do you do?
What do you do?
-_-
I smell a tl;dr
I pressed ctrl+f and looked for the letter "I" and didn't find any sentences saying "I do.."
Read the first title under "What is it?" and go away troll. Thank you.
So.. are you the ideas guy or am I missing something?
I know GLua inside and out. I have no problems coding this thing myself. It's that I require modelers and some mappers, if everything works as planned.
You could of just said that instead of making it a riddle.
Ghast, until you atleast learn who can and who can't code in this community i suggest you keep out of the Lua/gamemode section and go back to the mapping section, all your posts are either flame or trying to start a flame..
Asking what his position in the gamemode is flaming? Jee, that makes sense.
It's the only thing you ever ask. If someone doesn't post there position you always try to turn there thread on them. Most of the time you have no idea what your talking about.
Yea I guess asking what the guy does is really starting a mutiny.
I spy I has an IDEA thread again. You should find people in steam community...
So... You wrote some text and decided call it a gamemode?
You are also requesting more lua coders, an obvious sign that tells me that you probably don't know how to code at all.
Why would anyone help you when you have nothing to show of?
Trust me. Of all things I know better than most people in the world, Gmod Lua is probably the first.
I've been Lua coding for 2 years, and GLua coding for 4 months. Once you get your mind around the logic, anything is possible, really.
[editline]05:32PM[/editline]
Also, I specifically put Lua coders as optional because I really could do this myself. Anyone else would just be more help to churn out code faster. The only things I cannot do myself are the map and the models.
kp3, GBPS can code it all. If you knew shit about coding you'd know that it's more people -> less time. How about you sign up to help and see how shitty your work is compared to his. Perhaps you could even do a little digging and see his other work?
when is this going to be done?
Why do you need to make a gamemode for this? Can't you just play regular spacebuild and just RP like old times?
Why am I the only one who's excited from this..?
Yea I guess asking what the guy does is really starting a mutiny.
Lol, Ghast. I've been watching your entire list of posts and like 99% are all flames. You should get the hell out of the gamemode section since you can't code better.
The gamemode sounds nice, tho keep it up.

You're missing the point.
Hey guys, I have a great idea for a gamemode, I'm going to code it but i need help with some stuff.
Well, nobody is going to help you untill you have something to show of. Not that i'm inrested, nor capable to help him.

Who cares if he can code better. That doesn't matter if he doesn't code anything, and asfar as i've seen he haven't done anything. Maybe if he would show some pictures or anything it would be far more interesting.
Question about this, why not make it as a addon for spacebuild? Would probaly be easyer to maintaine?
Seeing that all he can do is code,I don't think that you're actually going to get any pictures unless he gets a modeler and mapper..
At any rate, the gamemode sounds great, and I think it could turn out pretty good if you find modelers and mappers..
Sounds nice, but you really shouldn't use custom models.
Well, for ships and such he doesnt need custom models, you could just use sbmp, but for things like the stations,I think he should use a custom models.
Sb was unique with that your ship was actually made out of scrap, not some uniform blocks.
Sb was unique with that your ship was actually made out of scrap, not some uniform blocks.
But the uniform blocks look 100x better and are way easier to use, are they not?
In some aspects.
Averice and [yournamehere], Shut up. It makes you and him both look bad when you come in talking smack with nothing to back it up. Do gbps the favor and let him handle his own ordeals.
gbps, If you really want to get this going, start on it now. get some code done, start getting the basics covered. Then when you have something to show, which is a sturdy gamemode foundation, then that's when you want to ask for help...Works a lot better, and the likelihood of your thread getting locked due to flaming goes way down.
No offense but if your so good at "coding" why are you making a rp? Like there isn't enough of them as it is? Use your "coding" talent on something new and exsisting instead of wasting it on something stupid like this.
