We had to get rid of the computer I used to play Garry's Mod on so I had to switch to a "new" one. Every time I try to play Garry's Mod on Single-player (I'm sure if it did it on Single-player it will do it on Multi-player too), I receive a descriptive error screen which says:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.
Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBFA80F21, 0xB0B939CC, 0x00000000)
*** ialmdd5.DLL - Address BFA80F21 base at BFA3A000 DateStamp 43304el9
Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance."
After I restart the computer I receive a message saying that windows has recovered from a serious error.
I know the error clearly states what I should do but I'm sure I would mess things up even worse if I didn't get some assistance.
I would appreciate it if I could get some help.

Check for driver updates. Most of the time it's out of date drivers that cause this (always keep your drivers up to date!). If it's not that then you should consider checking the installed addons/gamemodes. Something might be causing a serious error in there (which at some cases crashed gmod to).

I checked which drivers are out of date and the only graphics controller I have is up to date.
IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers
System devices
(2) Intel(R) 82801EB LPC Interface Controller - 24D0
Intel(R) 82801EB PCI Bridge - 244E
Intel(R) 82865G\PE\P Processor to I/O Controller - 2570
I have a total of 20 (yes 20) out of date drivers, but those are the ones I would think would cause Garry's Mod to crash.
It is your Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Driver:

Solution:
Go to Intel's website and download the latest driver. Turn off Automatic Updates and uninstall the current driver. Reboot and install the new driver you downloaded.
Edit:
Oh yeah and please do use google next time.

Thank you. I did use Google but it didn't help.

Well, the website didn't help anything. It just had an option to install a system scanner which you need to purchase for it to actually be useful. The Intel website links me back to the Dell website which I already checked.
To identify your driver:

To download the identified driver:

It may be your manufacturer supplied a faulty driver.

Ok thanks. All they have there that is the closest to mine is the Intel® 82865G Graphics and Memory Controller Hub (GMCH). Mine is the Intel® 82865G Graphics Controller. I tried it anyway and the driver cannot be installed on my computer (Windows XP Home Edition). Do you know where I could find the correct update?
This is probably it. Check it with the pictures on the page:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel865g/sb/cs-009168.htm
Note that this component is quite old. So maybe only a hardware upgrade can fix your problem. You could try reinstalling the driver though.

Thanks for all your help. I'll try reinstalling my current driver but at this point I think a new driver is my only option.
