The last few days I've been trying to find a texture pack that would replace the CSS textures, because a friend of mine doesn't have them and is tired of purple/black checker board. Am I wasting my time trying to find one, or is there another way to fix this?
Tell him to buy CS:S. That's the only thing I can think of.

One thing: Does he have DoD:S or HL2:DM? If not, tell them to buy CS:S at a store, like GameStop. If you buy it at a store, you can get DoD:S and HL2:DM for free, just pay $19.99! On Steam, CS:S is $19.99 itself.
Or get the Source Multiplayer Pack, which I think is cheaper.

Source Multiplayer Pack is $29.99, CS:S in stores is $19.99 (DoD:S and HL2:DM included!)
