Hey guy/girls,
When ever i start up gmod it shows the refugee standing like in the menu but the blue loading bar will not appear and it soon crashes after 1 second and gives me a hl2.exe has stoped responding message.
I have g mod and cs:s on my home computer as well and g mod runs smooth and never gives me error messages.
Please any suggestions and i have tried -dxlevel 81 etc so does anyone have some differnt ideas?

Can be of various reasons, normally when i used to play a hl2 based game and it shows the intial loading screen then when the menu comes up it crashes or gives a black screen instead of the menu. The solution to that i believe was a simple video driver update, try that.

oh cool im downloading a video driver update as we speak.

Make sure that the driver is from the website of the maker of your video card, for example "nividia"

If your running windows 7 goto control panel then goto the search bar at the top right and enter "drivers"
then you should see a largsh list of options, goto "devices and printers" and then click the option "device manager"
then you will get a plain list menu, click near the top on a picture of a pc monitor named " computer " and then your pc monitor
should be the only thing listed there, select it and a menu will open, then goto "drivers and all details and a update options should be there"
That is a way to try to correctly update your video drivers.
If you are running on xp or vista then it should be pretty much the same or similar method.

doesnt even give me any driver search results. Im gonna sigh off for tonight though and continue to slave over this on Friday.
