• File uploads constantly failing but work on every other upload site.

I am having huge issues with the site when it comes to uploading files bigger than lets say 10MB. I am trying to upload some files because people apparently have 5 brain cells and cannot figure out how to do an SVN checkout while breathing at the same time. Apparently it's too complicated. Things I checked before uploading. 1. Restarted my POS router and my cable modem because I thought it was one of the two. Nope. 2. Made sure file was a zip. Check! 3. Made sure there were no SVN folders in it. None. 4. Tired 2 other browsers. Fail and aids. File size is 165MB. Yes garry I like to eat your bandwidth. I should upload evocity2v2. Its ~240MB zipped. Am I hitting some sort of file size limit? If so what is it because I would love to upload the new evocity so the old one can finally fall off the front page. This file uploaded to multiple other sites successfully. I did this as a test to see if it's something on my end. <offtopic> Also I think you should add some sort of reporting feature back, something that you have to type why it should be removed, etc to keep people from spamming it. I know garrysmod.org doesn't need moderation but it needs a way to remove stuff that people uploaded that isn't theirs. Example. http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=76474 The file I am trying to upload includes that. I converted, rigged, animated and scripted it as a drivable vehicle that was in a pack and apparently he decided it needed to be standalone. I don't like people trying to feed off my work by uploading these so called "fixes". The real pack can be found here. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=886113 This is actually V2. V1 was released a long time ago and had no issues if it was installed right. Both versions included above vehicle. </offtopic> If this thread is a repeat or something I apologize as it is really hard to sift through this sea of piss that is this section even with search.
Have you tried getting other people to upload it? Maybe it just doesn't work for you.
I don't want other people to upload it. I want it on my account because I want to be able to edit the file. As it is something that right now is an SVN but I want to be able to post on the site if it has been updated and where to get the updates.
Yeah I tried to upload my vehicle pack to garrysmod.org as well, it's less than 50mb in the .zip. If there is some sort of size limit then it should be made more obvious. I also agree with the reporting feature, I've seen my fueled mod vehicles included in a few unofficial packs now and I would like to get them removed if they haven't already.
Add a lua dud in there. For example, in my Foliage Update, I had to add a "lua_DUD.lua" file in there so it could upload.
Add a lua dud in there. I have tried numerous configurations with my pc and tried another pc as well. I attempted to hook directly to the modem, still fail. It get's to 10% and dies. I also have a problem when I tried uploading evocity2v2 when it came out, it completely uploaded and then told me the file wasn't valid or something like that. The map has a record amount of files packed into the bsp that may be causing it to fail but the file is fine. It's just a 460MB BSP.
Make sure the ZIP doesn't have any .svn files or folders in it.
Doing the same thing for, I upload the whole file and when it's done it's say : Couldn't open the link or something like that.
Make sure the ZIP doesn't have any .svn files or folders in it.
Read the OP. Already did that. Did all the obvious things.
I am having similar trouble. Upload reaches approx. 30%, then the connection resets. I'm uploading a map, the zip is 50 megs on the dot. The 70 something mb .bsp file uploaded fine onto rapidshare. Tried ff, ie and chrome. My friend has also tried uploading, with the same results. All that's in the zip is my bsp. I really need to know how to work around this, as my friend is currently hosting a server with this map, and we need to put the map somewhere people will be able to find it when they try to join. EDIT: Cut down the size of the file to 11 megs, now I'm getting an internal server error. EDIT 2: Cut the file all the way down to 8 megs, uploaded fine. Seems there is indeed some kind of size limit. Hopefully fixed soon so I can actually post my entire map.
Ye, I was actually just about to upload a new weapons pack this morning but the same thing as what is happening to Sgt.Sgt is happening to me. The upload reaches around 13% then resets back to 0% then the next time It reaches 13% this error appears. Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error. I have tried on IE8, Firefox and Google Chrome. But all fail.
