I have been working on this mod for some "days", practically learning lua while crawling through the original code. I have read many critics on DarkRP, most of them were pointing the same way. Also i have seen many many "cool darkRP modifications" that never changed anything. I don't know if my idea is revolutionary or you will call it a copy of something you made a long time ago.
I dare renaming the gamemode as there is no part of code that wasn't modified, still i, as lua beginner, have used DarkRP as base or "core". So how it differs?
It will take me some time to list all the modifications...
-I set the mod for CSCDesert map, but it's not essential to play on this
-There are no jobs - still, classes remain - for now its hobo (default)
Classes divide players into a sort of... factions. For now there are two, im considering one more.
-Citizens (class Citizen, class CP) they occupy the bunker of cscdesert
-Rebels (class Rebel, class Rebel's leader) they spawn in the village. Rebels create their own rules.
-Factions will be dependent on each other, leading into trade (planned)
-Wanted,Lockdowns,Warrants,Lotteries are removed
-Demotions will be limited to citizens demoting cops
-Leader is voted by rebels
-When CP dies, he turns into citizen. The same for leader ->rebel. Basically if you want to demote your rebels leader, you can kindly ask him to do or kill him. More killing more minges you say? Not exactly, coz:
->there will be guns, but getting them will be harder and initially more expensive
->guns use RG engine - the bullets actually travel in space in time, also affected by gravity (Yeah snipers, this is a challenge ;) )
-Also, nobody will like to die. Players will evaluate their life more, since
-> Player drops all their cash when dies.
-> Player loses his licenses when he dies (explained soon)
As there are no jobs as in original DarkRP (you can still specify your own though) i created a system of licenses. Getting a license of a car seller will add vehicles in your spawn list. So both rebels and citizens can have these jobs (considering some restrictions for factions - will lead to trade between them? )
Now you say, how can one sell car or anything to others, if almost everyone can become almost everything? Simple - Licenses cost money and are not transferable between lifes xD
For now i have these licenses
-Cook (custom hunger system coming soon)
-Car dealer (Yeah we need some vehicles in the desert)
-Computer technician (PCmod 2, planning to add custom programs, improved chat for example) (also keypad cracker)
-Builder (the only one with blu physgun and toolgun - limited for roleplay usages (respected might get even GPU or E2 with restricted functions (Detection banned, applyForce banned etc. I will try to bring [B][COLOR="Red"]WIREMOD[/COLOR][/B] as close to the roleplay as possible - builders don't RP, RPers don't have time to build and wire, but there might be a way between - i am going to find it)
-Gun license (this comes in levels - pistols,shotguns,smgs,rifles and explosives). The higher the level, the more powerful the guns - but don't worry that map will be infested with snipers and grenades - getting license of those levels require a lot of cash ;)
-yup i said explosives - for now i have made only one - the door breaching bomb (remember the door breaching shotgun? yeah similar effect) but grenades and landmines will be added later)
Obviously, chat and voice radius are enabled. OOC and PMs are enabled for now, but will be blocked when cellphones and proper PCmod chat are out.
I forgot - you may be confused - everything is gonna be so expensive and you lose money when you die - don't worry, there is a bank system using cash dispensers (not dispenser exactly - it works both directions). Bank accounts are stored over sessions.
-If anyone want to make me nice model of the bank automat, tell me i will be happy ;) for now i use ticket machine from cs_assault.
I added drugz mod too, but instead of sucking packs of drugs from your butthole you need to grow them (i have weed plant and coca plant now - works similar to money printer). Oh and rebels leader can get a shipment of heroine.
Guns are a bit limited, but not removed. To add realism, now only person with gun license can buy ammo - not just increasing the number,but spawning ammo box entity - which also comes in shipment.
There are many little changes to the code, not all of them i can remember now - for example fall damage is fixed to be realistic. Mod is almost ready to be run on a server, other catch-ups can come later. I hope i will get at least more support than shitty servers with downloaded RP-inappropriate addons ;)
-I just got an idea of making some disease / infection codes that might affect your character (health lose, getting hungry sooner, being a zombie xD) i accept any ideas and improvements that are not dumb.
I have plans to do, like resources you will need to manufacture (not buy / spawn) guns, food or anything else. Maybe i will use resource distribution mod, i don't know now, its just planning. Food will have to be grown outside under the sky.. and so on. More for the trade.
