I hear too many videos using bad microphone recordings for speeches from games like half life 2, left 4 dead, etc. If you don't know how to get sounds directly from the game, here's something to help. I know most of the people know this, this is just for the ones who don't know.
----------
Requirements
You need gcfscape (for gcf/ncf files)
You need the game(s) said below (whichever one your using)
----------
*HALF LIFE 2 sounds:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps
Look for the file:
source sounds.gcf
When you have that open just go thru the hl2 -> sounds folder for the sounds you want and extract them to wherever you need.
*LEFT 4 DEAD sounds:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\sound
Just look through the folders, the sounds should be there.
If for some weird reason not, go here C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps and look for the file:
left 4 dead sound.ncf
Do the same as what I said up there (of course there wont be a hl2 file, it would be left4dead)
*TEAM FORTRESS 2 sounds:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps
Look for the file:
team fortress 2 content.gcf
In it, open the file in there: tf -> sound
From there, just look for the sounds you want.
----------
Well I hope this helps the people who didn't know. If not, then I guess its fine, just don't make fun of me or something for doing all of this lol.
Useful, I guess...
I havent seen any of that kinds of videos yet, tough.
thanks
