Well, title says it all..
My microphone won't work in Garry's Mod but it works in all other steam games, no idea whats wrong I have tried everything i could think of. Does anyone know what's happening or have the same problem?

Can't it be the bitrate that your microphone is picking up at? I've had trouble with some people in-game completely killing the sound in Garrysmod because of (I don't know what) but I'd be willing to bet it's bitrate.

Then just hit Apply and you are all set! i had the same issue with mine and this fixed it. Hope it helps anyone else too.

Not too sure about all that bitrate stuff?
I have this issue with HLDJ and HLSS in my server though. My mic works fine.

First time I ever tested HLDJ it was on a very popular GMod build server.
It worked.
There's a command in gmod servers where you may disable HLDJ and HLSS.
AND
It's defaulted to ON.

Anything that modifies any values to do with .dll files will get you VAC Banned.
All HLDJ does is create a .wav file inside your 2nd garrysmod folder then uses the variable voice_inputfromfile which will act like your microphone when you press your voice key but actually just play from the audio file.
Most servers haven't modified the command meaning you can't use it there, you may hear your own music but others won't hear a thing.

Not at all, it isn't a cheat nor a hack and doesn't edit any cvars, I think the only cvar it uses is "voiceinputfile" or something

You can't use HLDJ in Garrys Mod anymore, It's been blocked by garry
Some server's don't allow hldj, and or mics, try using it on a few servers.
Also in console type
Bind "x" "+voice_record"
Also type voice_loopback 1 in console, see if you can hear yourself.

He didn't block it, there's a console command in rcon that allows people to use it, I think is Sv_allow_wav_upload 1 or something, I forgot. You also shouldn't say things you don't 100% know, but don't worry I would expect a d3vine player to say something so mindless.

It does work I tested it last night on an empty server, jesus that was last yearish
Well, my mic works with Trouble in Terrorist Town and all RP's but not Jailbreak and Sandbox. So it cant be my mic. This is defiantly something to do with the System.

Why use HLDJ? I just hook up my phone using a patch cord for soundboards.
