How to turn off particals

I was looking for a console code to turn off particals, as it was that or the hud. As I have to play on -dxlevel 70 and I can't update video cards.

Particles are hard coded and built into the OB engine. You're fucked if you don't get a new video card is about it.

I rember seeing a thread about turning off particals, with a console code after typing in sv_cheats 1
