Gmod DirectX.. - Garry's Mod

ok, my gmod thinks i'm using Hardware DirectX v8.0 (Software Version is 9.0c) in advanced video options but, the truth is i'm using Hardware DX 9.0! times ago, the game worked fine, and showed up Hardware DirectX 9.0, after i wrote "-dxlevel 80" in advanced launch option then the game thinks i'm using DX 8.0 even when i have already removed the -dxlevel 80 prameter! i tried to -dxlevel 90 but it didn't work, and i have the lastest driver for intel(R) GMA Windows XP, SP 3 Dual Core 2.0GHz (2CPUs) VRAM: 256mb onboard DX9.0 compartiple RAM: 2010mb installed: MOH 2010 Starcraft 2 big pack Nexus Elite's Killing Floor models Counter-Strike Source models and maps Episode 1's materials/models/maps Half-Life 2's maps Call of Duty 6 models Foliage pack Ep2's Foliages Skin Switcher STool Dead Rising 2 Props pack Edit: and when i ran DirectDraw and Direct3D tests, the DX cube spinned like crazy, like 50000RPM, and when Test DirectDraw step 3 (bouncing white box in Full-screen mode), the Box bounced just as fast as not full-screen mode.. What is your graphics card? It could just be a case of your card not supporting it.

uh, ONBOARD 256mb (intel) plus: i though that it was a bit weird because i coundn't Turn on Bloom or Sun Beam and then i know that was because the game was running on DX8.0, so no Bloom or any other awesome PP effects plz help me out oh and this noon, i downloaded APOX open Beta, don't know what it might did but it said installing something about DX.. and guess what, Portal said "Hardware DirectX level: 9.0+" in advanced video

Every single Intel GMA integrated GPU are bottom-of-the-barrel horrible.

i used to play everything on MAX (and 1280x800 res) with that 256mb (55-60 FPS) and now i can't even toogle color correction! (except for AA mode) any idea how to get DX hardware level 9.0+ back?

Have you tried to launch with the -dxlevel 90 parameter?

Okay why don't you try turning off Steamcloud Sync (Steam > Settings > Downloads + Cloud > Untick "Enable Steam Cloud.") Then deleting your Garry's Mod folder?

either one works, though some people will tell you to delete the second one (the one inside the garrysmod folder)

try different opening commands... "dxlevel-100" "dxlevel-90" dxlevel-81".....try each one.

He is using a laptop. You won't want to go into DirectX 9. It only supports it so that people can use the fancy visual effects on Windows Vista and 7. He is also using 1024x768 when his screen supports higher resolutions.

Or can i change the registry info through the start->run?[/QUOTE] dx90+ is when u use a higher direct x like dxlevel-100 because its directx 10 if you use command dxlevel-10 you get directx 1 (o.O)

Source doesn't support DX10, setting it as such would be totally redundant as it can only go up to DX9.

i dont know about you but i use it. it will show it as directx 9.0+
