• How to host a listen server?

I am curious if anyone knows how to host a listen server on Gmod; I've been trying to host one for my friends for a while now but whenever I try to do port forwarding (for the required port valve games use, 27015 on both TCP and UDP) they can never connect and the port remains closed. Any tips on how to resolve this? If it makes a difference, my router is a Netgear router and I made sure my firewall wasn't blocking Gmod or the port. (Yes I know there's currently another thread like this, but it seems to be aimed at dedicated, not listen servers).
i have a netgear router as well. it was a pain to port foward, but i managed to do it by port fowarding 27015 udp and tcp and also port triggering 27015 udp and tcp (you will need a static ip for this).
run the listen server, then minimize gmod and go to www.canyouseeme.org put in the port and if it says its blocked or connection timed out, then no one can connect. make sure you prt forwarded to the right internal ip

I've tried. (and I have been using a static Ip as well.)
whats your routers model number?

I checked the internal Ip and its correct as my computer, and made sure I had forwarded the correct port. try disabling your firewall and check the port again. if it works then, you have the wrong program unblocked in your firewall.

If you really can't get it to work, just use shitty hamachi

Did you try using a upnp portmapper?
