Back in Gmod 11, I could have the game up and a map loading in 16 seconds.
In Gmod 13, it only takes 9 seconds for the initial loading screen to finish loading, which is fine. But then when the main menu comes up, it freezes for around 1 minute and 8 seconds. THEN when I select a map and click Start Game, it freezes for about 1 minute and 33 seconds! So now it's been 2 minutes and 50 seconds before I've even been able to get a map loading! Who want's to wait that long for a game to load if it's not even necessary?
ALSO, when I quit the game, I'm treated to a black screen for 47 seconds.
These optimization problems are seriously some of Gmod 13's biggest down points for me. I can stand most of the other glitches, but these freezes are unforgivable.
This is meaningless without us knowing your system specs. It's probably a problem on your side.

i had the same issue, when i checked the console, it said some addons where corrupt or something. so a manually deleted them and they redownloaded, with no more problems.

Oh, really? I'll have to see if that's what's happening to me too. Thanks. :)
I deleted all my Gmod addons, and it runs fine now.
But come on! It's GMOD! I don't wanna get rid of all my addons for it to run!
just curious.. did you at any point opt into the Dev Branch beta?
I honestly don't even know what a "Dev Branch" is.
