Hi,
I'm looking for a good VPS hosting company that will be able to handle ~50 players on servers.
Any recommendations?
Got in good with a friend who owns a ISP.
Could hook you up.
NFO is your best bet but it depends on what kind of VPS your looking for.

Could I have a bit more detail on it?

Your post made be cringe, haha. I don't have a good history with NFO and they are pretty expensive.
Virtual Internet Layer would be my first choice. They allow you to buy only what you need, Non of the tier system crap.
But if you are looking for something a bit more powerful, The next up would be Contabo. Sure, They have a one time installation fee, But for what you get, It's worth it.
Vilayer is great.
Vilayer is crap, nfo is overpriced and your friend does not own an ISP
Go bluevm

also 15% off with RN15OFF

I have not had a single problem with NFO I currently host a 3 core with 4 gigs of ram and the service has been great and the support has also been great and I have about 40 players on my server at all times.

Vilayer can really be hit or miss. The support can be slow or unhelpful, but they're pretty cheap and you get good support if you add the owner on steam.
However, NFO is very professional and incredibly helpful when it comes to (D)DoS attacks. If you don't need a VPS then Elpis Host is great too, although they don't have as much infrastructure as NFO. RamNode offers great prices too and I'm currently a customer, but iirc there was a complaint a while ago about them cancelling a vps for using too much of the cpu (which could be an issue for a 50 slot server).

If you know what you are doing though, They are a great choice.
NFO or bust, I can't believe Vilayer is even being mentioned.
For a cheap & powerful VPS, you can use this deal: http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/chicagovps-25year-512mb-kvm-vps-in-new-jersey-los-angeles/
$7/month for 2GB RAM is pretty cheap
RamNode is cheap, powerful and owned by a local Facepuncher.
Everyone says that NFO is outrageous with their prices but I love how quick
their support is and I have been hit offline like 5 times and they have fixed the
issues within a 10 minute time period.
Hosting 80 slot server at NFO and it's absolutely spot on, can't complain about anything.
The price is a little high compared to other hosts but it's well worth it. The protection they provide against attacks is amazing for the price, support tickets are usually replied to within a few minutes too.
I haven't had issues with vilayer for 1 and a half years, but you get what you pay for
