sorry if this is a stupid question but i tried putting them in the game modes folder and it doesn't work. Thanks
Uhm, why don't you use the Steam workshop? What gamemode do you want to get?
the last stand
Seems to be a dead gamemode. If I were you I'd stop searching.
do all gamemodes on garrysmod.org not work [editline]11th August 2013[/editline] whoops sorry i put that as dumb by mistake sorry
garrysmod.org is a graveyard. You may find something working that is for example just a model, but tools or swep stuff may not work. It's trial-and-error, just like trying to run a old WIN95 game on a Windows 8 system without any problems. It's rare it will work without flaws.
ok thanks
There's nothing stopping you from signing into Steam, downloading things and then testing them out yourself. You'll then almost certainly find Lua errors inside your console. From there, you can try to pick it apart. If you google a bit of the error, you may find some old Facepunch threads which can help. There's always this nifty little guide, which lists some functions that got broken with Gmod13: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1khSuIYrAMkqXu7wlH5YRJNwz6hOH6Xqi5lqBhE3x6gA/edit What you can also possibly do is, if you get it to a semi-working state, is use the old gamemode as a 'base' or reference, and attempt to redo it yourself. But that's all to get it working fully, not just show up. If you want to get the gamemode to show up in the first place on Garry's Mod, take a look inside garrysmod/gamemodes/terrortown or any other existing Gmod13 gamemode. You'll find a .txt file, which was changed in Gmod13, such as the name of the file, first line, etc. That'll be the best place to start. Compare a gamemode that works with Gmod13 with one that doesn't and you should be able to see what you need to. I will happily give you more detail and/or show you how to get it working, but it will be much better if you try and do it yourself.
