Whenever I join a gmod server [flood, drp, whatever] it starts downloading the lua, goes through it all and when I get into the server I'm in a sandbox. I'll have guns but no q menu.
I just finished completly reinstalling gmod and I still have this problem. I have no addons installed.
Are you sure the servers aren't using incorrectly setup fastdl? Do you have to download the lua each time you join them?
Happens on all servers.
In console, type cl_downloadfilter all , then try.
i had the same problem, i found out it was under options -> multiplayer and an option for downloading from servers was set to "do not download any custom files"
