Hello there, since I'm making that mafia gamemode JuiceHead wanted, I was wondering if anyone here had any good ideas for me, or anything they'd like to see in the mafia gamemode? I myself am quite content with just having the oldies radio, but I know people will want as much as possible, but still want to know your ideas.

I like it when I can click a RP mode I have never played before and be in it within seconds.

I think that having normal jobs ontop of being a Gangster would be cool

Make sure, that people have to reason before attacking another gang.
Lets say Gang1 owns 31 Cuban Cigars which sell at $100 each. Gang2 wants money, so they run into Gang1 base and try to take the cigars with the lowest mortality rate.
Death? New life.
Upon Death you leave the Gang your in, and change your name. You keep all items (Other then the weapon you where holding when you died) and house.

It's quite apparent that people in RP have the ability to survive without a house. That isn't too realistic. So before you can get a job you must own or co-own a house. This also opens up the possibility for a Land owner job.
Robbing!
NPC traders can be robbed, but this requires time. To rob a NPC, depending on the loot, the longer it takes. Don't make this exploitable, make it so you can only rob 1 NPC every hour.
Also, a nice idea would be to alert the cops a NPC is being robbed, but not tell them which one :v:

Craft guns and shit for less!
REP!
Increases your salary and decreases buying price from NPCs
Lots of items!
Its fun to have lots of items in games. Items you might want to add;

You know, there doesn't need to be a hard-coded class for you to roleplay being something... Players could set a crime family like that up on any server.
I would like to see it coded so that mob/gang members count as "undercover" in a way, so that their real job (their rank as a criminal) is only visible to others in the mob, but civilians see them as an ordinary citizen running a legitimate business. The police should probably have a similar system, so they can disguise as a criminal/ordinary citizen without having to rely on people RPing that they're in disguise. A similar feature would have the mob boss and police chief set ranks and salaries for their respective underlings.

I like that idea, on my RP server i always try to get people to own a house even if they never use it.

I was going to set a system up for mob bosses to set up ranks for their members, but for the police also sounds like a good idea...

Very good idea.
You could allow mob/gang members to be able to sell other goods such as food, be one of the classic meat butcher mobsters, making them run a legit business but get some extra on the side.
You could also allow the leader to pay his men rather than them getting thier salaries from the same place a policeman would.

I won't be implementing a auto pay system, so it WILL be necessary for the mob boss to pay his goons, as well as the police. I'm not sure about doing other businesses though, but that is an option.
