IF you create some gun or np flying bird with laser gun.I think you must test it without realase it.SO please make Test INGAME Function in creating script.
Ah, can you word this better? IF you create some gun or np flying bird with laser gun.I think you must test it without realase it.SO please make Test INGAME Function in creating script. What I think is being said? If you create a toybox Ent. like a gun or special script, you must test it before you release it. so please make some in-game test function when you submit a script.
In toybox, click mine, even if it's not live, it will be there. Test it there.
but where is workshop ?
but where is workshop ?
? What do you mean
What the fuck are you talking about, learn to type.
IF you create some gun or np flying bird with laser gun.I think you must test it without realase it.SO please make Test INGAME Function in creating script.
how about Test BEFORE you do anything with the cloud. you can test in game.. its called the Lua Folder and "lua_openscript_cl"
I think what he means is having an additional state of toybox like workshop, but public. Kinda like a section of toybox where people could beta test entities with the knowledge that they may not work.
you could do that anyway? just update the code while in Gmod..
I never said it was practical, but I think you misread. I think the point is that having something in workshop is for developer only, and having something released is giving people the impression that everything works perfectly. If someone downloads a released entity and it bugs out on them at some point, they might think "this is dumb". If it's in a section where the entity is assumed to have potential bugs and someone finds one, they might think "cool I'm helping in the development process". It's not a real change, it's just putting a different title on something to change the way people think about it.
in other words: Have a Beta option (along with workshop and live)
What do you mean?
in other words: Have a Beta option (along with workshop and live)
I could be wrong. I'm not sure what language this guy is speaking.
A better idea is to have an icon next to items to signify they're still in development
1) Go to toybox.garrysmod.com. 2) Edit the code. 3) Go to Mine page in Toybox ingame (or refresh it). 4) Test new version. Raccoon, incomplete versions are getting removed by Garry. So, please keep WIPs in workshop, unless it's a map (there's WIP category for maps).
How about at least an option to allow certain individuals to test our Cloudscripts? Like on the toybox editing page have a tab where you can add the steam names/groups of people you want to be allowed to test it. Then when the testers are in game they can click on the toybox and choose a "Friends/Beta" section where it displays all currently unreleased Cloudscripts that they have permission to access.
Cant you just use the console commands? you know
toybox_entity 1337

I could be wrong. I'm not sure what language this guy is speaking.
He speaks Polish natively. He said so on the Portal 2 Collab.
