Hey guys.
When I play GMod (happens mostly in rp_downtown_v2, and it's REALLY bad in rpw_downtown_v2), i don't see the original textures, but i just see black and purple squares..
Is there any way to fix it?
You probably need CSS.
I have CSS, HL2, DOD and TF2 O.O
The only way to fix it is to get the missing textures.
I don't have HL2 installed atm, tho.
Install HL2, that should fix the problem.
Didn't fix it..
Are all the games mounted?
Yeah..
Have you played them all at least once?
You mean on a server?
You might need Episode 2.
Oh, I'll try and install that, then.

Okay, so I just installed HL2 Episode 2, and it had no effect..
Did you try verifying the integrity of the game cache files?
Loving the 010ers posts, we don't use stuff like O.O around here for the record.
It is a corrupt map file find something else.
Delete the map file from your maps folder, re-download. You only need css for that map.
Defrag your gamefiles, this usually fixes the problem.
The 10'ers are looking worse by the second.
This could be a very bad year gentlemen, even worse than *shudder* 09.

You're an '09er though... So am I, but I was here a few months before you. :c00l:

Also, I doubt the games are mounted. Being a '10er I doubt you know how, thus the *almost* ellipsis after your answer to the question
Are all the games mounted?
i cant believe your not familiar with the purple and black squares of doom.
it means you have a major error with textures, and possibly skins. you might have not installed the materials? or maybe the map maker and/or uploader didnt include the materials?

More like 07 brobra.
It could be a custom texture as well. When you download the map from a server it might not include custom textures. Try looking up the map on garrysmod.org to see if it has any custom materials with it.
If nothing is working you are either:
Doing it wrong..
or
:yarr:Pirate?:yarr:
YOU HAVE TO PLAY EACH GAME ONCE ON SINGLE PLAYER OR MULTIPLAYER
caps
Y'know what's odd.
I don't even have any of the games downloaded, they're in my tray for downloading, but they're not even past 1%.
I load up garrys mod and the textures work perfectly.
Try mounting the games. That usually works.
you can do what steam suggests and reinstall your OS.
This should fix it if it is any problem with anything on youre side, Unless itsamuch much more serious problem.
Edit:
Actuall, Reinstalling Gmod might fix it... or not. Who knows.

Some people are just new to the site like me, I've had gmod for atleast 3 years now. :P

thats just a massive time waste and wont solve anything what uninstalling steam will do

When has steam ever said to reinstall your OS to fix a texture issue?
