Every time I place a camera, and I select a key to it, it is unresponsive and the camera doesn't shift point of views, just either doing nothing or changing a weapon. I can't seem to find a solution for it. I use windows 7, I don't know if the os is the problem, it's my keyboard, my keyboard settings, or something is wrong with my copy of the game. I would appreciate any solution to the problem. Thank you.
Your OS shouldn't be causing a problem as many other gmod users including myself use W7. I dont know if I fully understand the problem. So if you place a camera and attach it to Numpad 5 and you push numpad 5 it doesnt switch to the cameras view? If this is the problem, then do any other items work such as thrusters? If they do not then it is a keyboard problem, if they do then it is something else.

Any suggestions you might have??
Try enabling NumLock [editline]10th November 2010[/editline] (Press the NumLock button above your keypad on your keyboard in other words)
Ya if you have a full sized keyboard then numlock probably isn't on. If you are using a laptop then you need to hold the 'fn' key while hitting the correct keys on your keyboard. Also, you cannot use the top row of numbers. You have to use the numpad.

Only Caps lock I use an inspiron 1545, does G-mod need the numberpad that computers keyboards usually have that's in the far right of the keyboard? In the camera placement menu, it asks for numbers and stuff like + or / to look through the camera, but it doesn't work. I held fn but no go either. It pretty much looks like this: [IMG]http://i552.photobucket.com/albums/jj334/JC130/10128-img8445s.jpg[/IMG]
I'm having the same problem, but I have a numpad. If you have the arrow keys assigned to a number like I did on my old lappy, then it doesn't make a difference. Try doubleclicking the buttons and replanting the camera; That should work. If not, listen to people above.

Also tried both other suggestions above, didn't work either. I don't think it's gonna work properly unless I have a numpad. I'm sorry if this getting to be an annoyance to anyone, I just want to be able to use Garry's mod properly
bind numpad key on keyboard option menu to something like the numbers on top
Go to Options > Keyboard. Look for something similair to Numpad 1 through 9 and bind those buttons to your number row (above your "qwerty" buttons). [editline]11th November 2010[/editline] Yeah the guy above me is on the right track, only he needs2lernsumgrammarz
try holding FN button (between ctrl and windows button) And try yhnujmik,ol. and so on. While holding fn ofc. Works for me if I used my grandparent's laptop.
