• Should I host a server?

So I just started living on my own and recently got me a gaming laptop (asus g60vx) and a 10mb/s internet connection in the middle of England. Should I host a Garrysmod server? Or would I need a faster connection? I'm planning to make it for about 8-10 people. And most importantly, would running a laptop all day hit my electricity bill? Specs of a lappy: Core 2 duo at 2.13 ghz 4 GB ram Windows 7 64 bit NVidia GeForce GTX 260m HDD: SATA 320gb 5200rpm.
You could run it (I might be doing the same thing soon), but the electricity bills would probably cost as much as a dedicated server company charges.
Check your upload speeds on Speedtest. Thats what you really should be worried about.
I wouldnt reccommend hosting a server on a laptop, as it will create a lot of heat and shorten the life of your laptop if its gonna be run 24/7. Also most domestic internet in the UK has a an upload about 768kb and 1mb which isnt gonna be enough for lots of players.
Speedtest rated me 2.15 mb/s down and 6.15 mb/s up. Think that's enough? Also, how is my up speed higher than down speed lol?
Alright. If I wanted to host say a tiny website and some really low-cpu programs, no game servers or anything, what computer could I find that would eat the least electricity, and be able to run 24/7? I'm thinking of running it for a few months.

Or, a web-enabled appliance like a NAS. Or, a WRT with some added storage.
Holy shoes that's some cool upload speed there!
