i need it for my dedicated server. Doesn anyone know of any?
http://wiki.garrysmod.com/?title=Fastdl#Webspace Some server hosts provide it for free.
http://000webhost.com/ is good if you have a select number of people you know that always play the sever. People tell me sometimes that it disconnects with missing map, but mostly it's good, faster than normal.
UK Game http://www.ukgame.com/redirect/ Buggy sometimes, but otherwise pretty fast. Even has automatic compression.

I signed up for my server, but the link it gave me isn't working, i've been waiting for atleast 20 minutes for it to come online.
I use Go Daddy Grid Hosting with Linux. Grid Hosting Beta: Price Just $4.99/mo! 100 GB Space • 1 TB(1,000 GB) Transfer Unlimited Compute Cycles • 100 Email Accounts • 50 Email Forwards • 25 MySQL Databases
sv_downloadurl "http://www.mysvdownloadurl.com/garrysmod/" Note: The URL must have a trailing "/" after garrysmod. Failure to do so will cause Fast Download to break.
Also like to note my fast dl works fine. I use www.******.net/fastdl/ Instead of www.******.net/garrysmod/ As long as you have your folders correct after the trailing slash your good.
If your interested I offer UK FastDL Space for £1.50 a month for 1Gb of space and full FTP access, Speak to me on steam if your interested (Shepsie).

Dropbox works for me, you can just copy the files into your Dropbox's public folder and use the public link as the fastdl. http://dropbox.com Also it makes syncing the lua cache folder much easier as you could use my simple batch file to copy from the garrysmod cache folder to the Dropbox cache folder, no FTP needed.

I was actually wondering the same thing as santiainen, the closest I have come to finding out my public folder link is this post: http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=3075 In said post, they are talking about a script that creates a html file recursively that allows you to link to folders (I think). Personally, i'm still looking for my public url. Any help on how to find it would be appreciated.
Theres a free one on fpsbanana.
what's the public link? it's not #home/garrysmod/... i mean, it cant be... i replace #home with wat?
To find your public link, go to (or create) a folder past the "public" folder in your Dropbox folder on your pc (My Documents\My Dropbox\Public\garrysmod\maps\), Right click a file in the \maps folder and choose Dropbox > Copy Public Link. You can then work back to the garrysmod folder from the link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3455978/garrysmod/maps/wc3_dm_hangumhigh.bsp.bz2 is the map, so http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3455978/garrysmod/ is what you would type into sv_downloadurl Then all you need to do is drag and drop stuff into "My Documents\My Dropbox\Public\garrysmod" for it to be available on that link.
Wow, that actually seems pretty easy. It also seems to make a lot of sense.. why didn't i think of that? :bang: Thanks though, it seems like one of those things that's so simple you don't really consider it.
Dropbox is great. I know someone who uses it for his website files. He doesn't use the public folder thing you guys are on about, but sets up a virtual host so he can change stuff as if it was on his PC.

I want to warn you guys that in the past DropBox has removed the public URL feature from people for abusing it. Using it for FastDL would be abusing it.
i got a permission from an admin... in dropbox forums
Link?
